What is a plastic feeder?
A plastic feeder, also known as a plastic screw feeder, plastic granule feeder, automatic feeder, or suction feeder, is an automated conveying device used in plastics processing, chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries. It is primarily used in conjunction with extruders, injection molding machines, and high-speed mixers to automatically feed powdery, granular, and crushed materials.
This equipment operates on the principle of screw conveying or vacuum negative pressure, transporting materials from a storage bin to the target hopper, with the feeding cycle controlled by a level sensor. Its features include easy installation, portability, reasonable design, convenient operation and maintenance, large conveying capacity, fast feeding speed, wide application range, stable performance, labor saving, wide temperature range, good non-stick properties, the option to add baffles, a large lifting angle, easy cleaning, and simple maintenance. The equipment power ranges from 1.1kW to 3kW, with a feeding capacity of 300-1000kg/h and a feeding height typically of 2-6 meters.
